Church of Our Lady of The Lake/Mt. Carmel | St. Sebastian’s Terrace & Columbarium
Fr. Sorgie - Pastor of St. James Church - Carmel, NY and others in the Parish had a vision... we simply worked hard to make it real.
It was a compelling vision…. to transform sorely neglected land surrounding Our Lady of The Lake Church, a charming country church built from native rock in the 1930s, into a beautiful natural gathering place for all members of St. James’ Parish. The concept included stone garden walls in which columbarium niches would be installed, becoming integrated as “part of the church”. Key to the vision, was that the new construction and landscape would look as though it had always been there.
